Motion Pro Rim Lock and Oil-Filter Magnet

Ignition3 braved the cold and snowy weather in Indianapolis this year for the Dealer Expo. While they were there, they filmed some tasty videos of some hot new products they came across. Here's one with Motion Pro's Chris Van Andel explaining the Oil Filter Magnet and the Rim Locks.

Motion Pro says its Oil Filter Magnet is easy to install – it just attaches to the base of a standard oil filter. It traps hard metal particles down to the size of one-micron (standard oil filters only trap particles down to 20 microns).  They were invented by guys who know about tough conditions and abusing engines – Dave Ashley and Dan Smith, who are winners of 17 Baja Off-Road Championships. These handy dandy magnets come in two sizes and are reusable for up to five oil-filter changes.  

The LiteLoc Rim Lock is made from special high-strength nylon-composite material in a one-piece molded design. They are half the weight of cast-aluminum ones, yet are 10- to 20-percent stronger, according to Motion Pro's tests. The Rim Lock's unique contoured shape protects the inner tube from abrasion and reduces heat, while the angled and tapered ribs keeps the tire securely locked to the rim.
