The Ab~Wing acts as hinge below the chest protector, so when a rider gets into the racing crouch, the Ab~Wing mimics the rider's movement and body position, so it won't interfere with comfort or movement. According to the maker, here's how it works: A patented Impact Deceleration Control technology allows impact energy to be transmitted through an Expanding Pouch outer cover and directly onto penetration-resistant Impact Diffusers. These flexible shields evenly distribute the impact force over the surface area of the Nitrile Foam Impact Core. This Impact Core continues the process of decelerating harmful impact forces by utilizing its intrinsic ability to expand and compress laterally. The Expanding Pouch and its Impact Decleration Control components return to their original state upon cessation of outside impact forces and can be reused. It doesn't cost extra to get the protector custom fitted (so ladies and kids can wear something that actually fits them) and the C-008AW  works in conjunction with Impact Safe-T Armor's back protector. If  you already have a Competition Series Chest Protector, you can get it upgraded for a nominal cost.
