Alpinestars improved its Tech 8 off-road boot for 2010 – the calf-and-shin articulation system has been tweaked to give more control and flex, and the fit and the comfort features have been improved. The articulation system has a vertical, dual, sliding-blade mechanism for more flex consistency and more control. The inside of the boot works with the exterior structure to provide a more precise fit and longer lasting comfort. Asymmetrical gel inserts cushion the ankle, and bi-directional closures keep the buckles from bursting open. The buckles are tucked within the profile of the boot to shield them from impact damage. The boots have new dual-compound soles for durability and more grip. You don't need to replace the main outsole when swapping the sole insert anymore, and the rubber gaiter at the top of the boot (similar to Tech 10 design) keeps the track, trail and weather from getting inside the Tech 8. The white version of the Tech 8 has a ventilation system, while non-vented colors include black, white/red and white/blue.
