NEWARK, OH
It has come and gone just like that: the most anticipated Trials Inc. event of the year at the beautiful Hangers House in Newark, Ohio. Awesome sections set in a beautiful atmosphere made for two days of great trials.
With the series nearing its close, several classes are coming down to the wire in their points battles. In Champ-class action, Cody Manning (above) was on his game, and he took the win on both days over Yuki Watanabe.
The first class to be locked up was the Expert class, with Chase Harker getting it done. However, Chris Zuroske took the win on Saturday by three cleans over Harker. But Harker came back on the second day, winning by 15 to clinch the championship.
"It feels really good to win this class championship," Harker said. "I am really looking forward to riding Champ class."
Bill Super and Doug Hodgdon (right) each garnered a win in the Advanced class. Hodgdon's win put him in the lead for the class championship. It's going to come down to the last round in Tippecanoe, Ohio, for the final decision. Tim Pullman finished out the podium each day, just a few points off the leaders.
In the Sportsman class, Greg Blair is continuing his season of top finishes. He received a first on Saturday, followed by a second on Sunday. He is well on his way to the class championship. Dave Ditcher squeaked out the win over Blair on Sunday after moving up from the Intermediate class the previous day.
Quinn Wentzel had a good weekend in the Intermediate class. He has dominated the class this year. Watch out next year, Sportsman-class riders! Chandler Atkins had an impressive ride on Sunday; he was just one point off Wentzel's pace.
The Senior A class has been very competitive this year. This weekend, Joseph Clark worked hard for two wins. Bill Bagby followed up with two second-place finishes.
The next rounds are the highly anticipated 25th anniversary of the Stoney Lonesome Trials. The Stoney crew is promising something special.
