Florida Supermoto Series
Round 1: Central Florida Racing Complex

Van Way, Mesa, McLendon Score Big at Orlando!

ORLANDO, FL

A record number of entries made the Florida Supermoto Series season opener at the Central Florida Racing Complex on January 23 and 24 a great success. The race was held in conjunction with Stuntwars and featured some of the best racing and spectator attendance the series has ever seen. An all-new track with two challenging dirt sections helped level the playing field and gave no hometrack advantages.

AMA Pro Supermoto Lites rider Dillon Van Way dominated the Open Pro class on his KTM but was unable to pass Rob McLendon (69, below) in the 450 main event. McLendon went on to battle Logan Van Way for a hard-earned win in the 250 class.2010 0123 Central Florida Racing Complex Rob McLendon 69 vs Jason Hill 972

Jason Hill (972, above) and Neil Stimpson had a great battle in the Unlimited class that ended with Hill's Husqvarna taking the checkered flag.

Boca Raton, Florida's Stefano Mesa was a force to be reckoned with in the mini classes, scoring three wins and finishing third against full-sized bikes on his CRF150R!

Florida Supermoto has contracted with Bridgestone to become a distributor of supermoto tires. Trackside tire sales and mounting will be available at all future FL/SM rounds. See www.flsupermoto.com for pricing and details.

The second round of the series will feature an exclusive North vs. South competition between Florida Supermoto and ESMRA riders on February 27 at Middle Georgia Kart Track. A full day of practice will be held Friday, February 26. For more information, please visit www.flsupermoto.com.
