AUBURN, CA

The best racing talent at Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway in Auburn, California, is having a hard time finding a kink in the armor of Billy Janniro (14, above) this year. Janniro has turned up the heat a notch or two this year and he continues to dominate the Division One Scratch main event each week. With the exception of week four of this 2010 speedway season, when Janniro was beaten by Scott Brant (10) in the main event, the veteran speedway rider has been the fastest man of the night in seven of eight meetings at Fast Fridays. Each week he faces some of the best riders racing speedway today, and he continues to win. This past Friday night, Janniro squared off against Charlie Venegas, who took second place; Bart Bast, who was third; and Bryan Yarrow, who finished fourth. But Janniro continued his winning ways.

Venegas is dialing it in at Fast Fridays. He won the Division One Handicap main event. Riding like the skillful speedway veteran he is, Venegas topped Tommy Hedden, who finished second, and Bast, who was third.

Matt Drury won the Division Two main event, Billy Parino won the Division Three main event, and Tyler Warren won the Youth main event. Mike Powers (925, below) won the crowd-favorite Run What U Brung event.

Brant won the third round of the Challenge Elimination Series and will join round-one winner Venegas and round-two winner Hedden in the five-rider championship series finale on September 3.
