VICTORVILLE, CA

Joe Jones & Jimmy Olsen successfully defended their National Sidecar Championship title with a perfect evening at Wheel2Wheel Raceway in Victorville, California.

Jones & Olsen led the championship standings entering the night after going undefeated at the first round in Ridgecrest on September 11. The duo made no mistakes in round two, as they won all three of their heats and outpaced the field in the main event to conclude the two-round series with a perfect 57 points.

The real drama was the battle for second overall in the series. Three teams entered the main separated by only two points. The finishing order in the main event would be the final determinant on how they placed in the Series. Brian Motis & Brandi McElroy were second in the main event and finished second overall, while Gerard Jackson & Dave German's third place gave them the same place in the series. Shawn Driggers & Missy Driggers had to settle for fourth place in both the main and the series.

Josh Larsen won three of his four heats, even though he had to come from behind to win in two of them, and he roared to victory in the First Division main event. Neil Facchini was second, John Marquez finished third, and Jon Stasiefski was fourth.

Justin Weeks held off a last-lap challenge from Joey Holt to win the Second Division main event. Holt had to settle for second. Rick Fehrman was third, and Chris Jones finished fourth.

Arie Gardner led all four laps to win the Third Division main event for the first time in his career. Tony De Almeida finished second, John Pavia was third, and Rick Huspek finished fourth.

Erika Lyons took over the lead halfway through the first lap and never looked back en route to victory in the Pee Wee main event. Jimmy McDonald finished second, Summer Fehrman was third, and Dakota Shockley finished fourth.

Summer Fehrman fought back a late challenge from Lyons to win the Powderpuff main event. Julie Shockley finished third.
