SPRING RUN, PA
Led by Tyler Stacey's wins in the 250 and Open B classes, three members of Team Stacey took five wins at Path Valley Speedway's second race of the season. Tyler's little brother Racer was guaranteed one win in the 50 Chain class, and he passed a rim-riding Tyree Moore on the fourth lap for the 50 Shaft win.
Not known for his good starts this season, Tyler gated third, behind Tyler Phillips and Ryan Connelly, with Becca Zafia behind him in the 250 B final. Tyler Stacey (91, above) put his Miller's Cycle Works/Kriebel Security-sponsored Suzuki in the lead entering turn one on the third lap. Zafia took third on the fifth lap, setting up a tight three-way battle for second to the end; the spot went to Tyler Phillips, followed by Zafia and Connelly.
The start of the Open B was "déjà vu all over again," but this time the front three stayed close for the first half. After some swapping, Tyler Stacey had taken control of second by the sixth lap, and he passed Phillips on the outside coming off the final turn for the win.
The third member of Team Stacey, Shain Bourassa (19, above), completed the cycle as he took his second 125cc win in two weeks. He took the lead right away from Jeff Hughes and Mike Peter. On lap three, Peter took second on the back straight.
After having destroyed the 65cc field earlier, Brandon Price (92, above) looked like he was going to repeat in the 85cc final, taking the lead from Cameron Smith, Tristan Avery (4C) and Dylan Winsett. While Price pulled out to a large lead, Avery finally got past Smith off turn two on the fourth lap and started cutting into Price's lead. Avery caught and passed him off turn two on the final lap.
Zack Kolsovsky and Nathan Reichert again staged one of their tire-to-tire 50cc Senior races, with Kolsovsky staying upright to just edge out Reichert for the win.
Kolsovsky's uncle Rick Winsett Jr. showed he can still race with the best of them as he took the Over 30 victory, over Todd Kendig and Roy Miller, and then topped Open A winner Evan Baer and Dalton Winkler in the Open Sportsman final. Winsett pulled several bikelengths in front of Winkler and Baer, who fought over second for most of the final. Baer finally took control on the seventh lap.
Miller easily won the 250 Sportsman class, over Kevin Bills and Ryan Heagy.
Dallas Baer topped Kendig for the Over 40 win.
Nick Taylor got by Jim Chapman off turn two on the third lap to take the win in the 500 Two-Valve final.
Chapman got past George MacNeill at the halfway point to win the Over 50 final.
