Monster Energy Sponsors Cup/Dade City MX Championship Series
Round 13: Dade City MX

Kory Keylon Keeps It Real

DADE CITY, FL

Another new track layout greeted the riders at round 13 of the Dade City MX Championship Series, which was filled with some wild racing. The weather started out hot and dry, but by the second set of motos the weather looked threatening. However, the worst it got was a light rain for just a couple of motos.2010 0731 Dade City MX Kory Keylon 310

The contestants of the Monster Energy Sponsors Cup, presented by Patriot Chevrolet, shot out of the gate for the first moto with Extreme Honda/BPM Racing Engines' Michael Picone taking the holeshot. BTO Sports/Butler Brothers' Kyle Keylon was up toward the front, but he went down hard. Filing in behind Picone were Huss Drilling's Ian Millet, Kissimmee Motorsports' Kory Keylon (310, above), Pro Action's Forrest Smith, and Tyler Livesay. Livesay moved past Smith, as did Jason Thomas. Picone put some distance on the field. Kory, Livesay and Thomas passed Millett, and the order was set.

Livesay led the pack in moto two, but Picone made an aggressive move for the lead, putting Livesay over the bars. Following Picone were Kyle Keylon, Smith, Kory Keylon, and Wilfredo Guzman. Picone and Kyle battled for the lead, while Kory and Guzman passed Smith. Kyle tried passing Picone with a lap left, but Picone shut the door. Picone went on to win the moto, over Kyle. Kory outlasted Guzman for the final podium spot. Livesay held off Millett for a top-five finish.

After the interviews were completed, it was announced that Picone had been penalized, dropping him to third in the second moto. Kory Keylon won his second overall of the season with a 2-2 score, over Picone's revised 1-3 tally.

The 50 (4-6) B Stock class was the first to hit the track. Tyler More led the first moto, ahead of Gabriel Helzer, Kaitlyn Lane, Kai Curry and Aiden J. Dion. More put a little gap on Helzer, as Lane and Curry battled for third. More won the moto, over Helzer. Curry got by Lane for third.

The second moto was all More's, again. Helzer put in another second-place finish. Lane started in third and held off Curry and Kyle Barfield. Curry gave up fourth late in the moto to Barfield.

Braden Myer led the first 85 (7-11) B moto, over William Klee. Adventure Cycle Center's Tyler Lang and Travis Rudolph dropped Klee to fourth. Lang and Rudolph pressured Myer, and then both passed the Yamaha rider. On the last lap, Rudolph passed Lang for the win. Myer finished third. Klee held off Kyle Cheesman for fourth.

Clermont Land & Tree's Rudolph absconded with the lead in the second moto. Rudolph pulled away and never looked back en route to taking the win. The battle was for second, as Lang passed Adventure Flex Pack Team's Zachary Hart and then pulled away for second. Hart held off Cheesman and Klee for third.2010 0731 Dade City MX Quinton Bigalow 159

Kissimmee Motorsports' Quinton Bigalow (159, left) won the first Four-Stroke moto. Dustin Solovitch was second, but Jesse Freeman got by. Bigalow took the second-moto win, and Solovitch held off Freeman for second. Rounding out the top five in both motos were Cahill's Matt Lee and Five M Racing's Sam Maritato.
