CLIFFORD, PA

Hurricane Hills hosted round 18 of the massive District 34 Championship Series on Sunday, July 18, at the Hurricane Hills Sports Center. Yedinak, Kawasaki pilot Carl Brucher (28, above), Josh McGinnis, Justin Tompkins and Ty Portz led the pack out of the second turn in the first Mid Mini moto. Brucher passed Yedinak in the first corner of lap two, taking the lead, but was quickly relegated back to second when Yedinak jumped past Brucher over the Hurricane Hills elevator. Tompkins, McGinnis and Portz rounded out the top five. Tomkins passed McGinnis on the flat-track section, taking third. Portz was alone in fifth.

Yedinak started lap four with a four-second lead and appeared to have the win in the bag but made a mistake on the white-flag lap that dropped him back to third. Brucher inherited the lead, with Tomkins in close pursuit, but lapped traffic slowed the pair while Yedinak mounted a charge back to the front. Brucher then stalled his Kawasaki in the corner before the downhill tabletop, handing Tomkins the lead. Yedinak closed the gap on Tomkins and retook the point with a quarter of a lap to go. Yedinak took the checkers two seconds ahead of Tomkins. Brucher, McGinnis and Portz followed.
