DADE CITY, FL
Patriot Chevrolet presented the Monster Energy Sponsors Cup. Jason Thomas (62, above) led the first moto, with Vortex's Jonathan Camp second. Pro Action's Forrest Smith slotted into third, followed by the Keylon brothers, Kyle and Kory. Smith fell early. Kyle Keylon moved into second, leaving Camp and Kissimmee Motorsports' Kory Keylon to battle for third. Then Morrison's Discount Auto Repair's Jerry Kopoian moved to fifth to make it a three-way battle. Kory and Kopoian both passed Camp into third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, at the front, Kyle got by Thomas for the lead. The two Butler Brothers-sponsored riders stayed close for the remainder of the moto, with Kyle taking the win, over Thomas. Camp made a last-second pass on Kory for third, and Fun Bike Center's Ian Millett sneaked into fifth after Kopoian fell.
The second moto saw Thomas get his second holeshot of the night. Pit Stop Graphix's Tyler Livesay, Millet, Kory Keylon, Kyle and Camp completed the top six. Camp vaulted past both the Keylons. After a bad start in the first moto, Livesay was out to redeem himself, and he latched on to Thomas. The rest of the top five - Millet, Camp and Kory Keylon - were way ahead of the rest of the field, but Kyle Keylon eventually dropped out. Camp slid out next, letting Kory by for fourth, and the order was set. Thomas won by three seconds. Livesay, Millet, Kory and Camp rounded out the top five.
The Vortex main started with Mike's Cycle Center's Robert Devonald-Batt (5, above) getting the holeshot, followed by Xtreme Powersports' Evan Walker, Six Twelve Suspension's Andrew Stocker, and Robby Renner. Devonald-Batt pulled away to an eight-second win, but behind him the order continued to shuffle throughout the entire moto. It came down to the last lap, as Fox's Kory Keylon charged all the way, just nipping Walker at the line for second. Champions Powersports' Kalin Fitzpatrick and Aleck Forte rounded out the top five.
Barney's Rocket Racing's Robby Ruffner made a last-lap pass in moto one of the 85 (12-15) B class to take the win. Tyler Congleton, who'd led most of the race, finished a close second. Michael Glasheen outdueled Noah Woods for third.
Ruffner took the second-moto win and the overall victory, over Glasheen. David Leaf took third, over Matthew Meadows and Woods.
O'Neal/Twin Air/Renthal-sponsored Morgan Johnson (159, above) took the first-moto holeshot in the 65 (9-11) B class, over Nicolas Rego (121). Rego went on to take a convincing win. Weston Levingston took second. Michael Orlowski, Trevor Bell and Tyler Snorek got by Johnson at the end of the moto.
The second moto was another Rego show, as he took the win, with Bell, Snorek, Orlowski and Levingston rounding out the top five.
