Loretta Lynn Southeast Area Qualifier/Ponca City Qualifier/Southern All-Stars Tour, Presented By Dunlop
Round 7: Lazy River Motocross Ranch

Martin Leaves His Mark at Lazy River

CHATSWORTH, GA

Lazy River Motocross Ranch hosted round seven of the Southern All-Stars Tour, Presented by Dunlop. The event doubled as a Loretta Lynn Southeast Area Qualifier, and "tripled" as a Ponca City Qualifier. The three-day event kicked off with a full day of practice on Friday, followed by Stock classes on Saturday, and Modified classes on Sunday, along with series classes. A little rain during Friday morning's practice left conditions just right for the remaining two days of competition.

On Saturday, Cameron Stone (1-1) was perfect in the 250 A class, while Beau Hudson (3-2) traveled from Texas to claim second, and local talent Jonathan Foskey (5-3) took third.

Stone also nabbed the top podium position in the 450 A class, followed by Kyle Mierzejewski from Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Gino Aponte from Atlanta, Georgia.

Aboard his Yamaha, Kyle Bitterman was untouched, tallying a 1-1 score in the 450 B class, while John Paulk qualified in second and Clinton Duff scored his qualifying position in third.

Adam Cianciarulo was unstoppable in the 85cc (12-14) class. The Kawasaki captain captured the gold, followed by Suzuki's Donny Brown and Team Green's Chase Bell.

South Carolina, Washington, Pennsylvania and Florida were represented in the top five of the 65cc (7-9) class. J.D. Myers and Cody Charbonneau charged back and forth for the top position. When the dust settled, Myers (2-1) made the cut in first, while Charbonneau (1-2) accepted second and Robert Semelsberger settled for third. Fifteen of the 18 Mini pilots were aboard KTMs.

Modified classes were combined with series classes on Sunday. Zach Bell and Cianciarulo put on several praiseworthy performances. The Team Green duo fought fender to fender throughout both Supermini motos, but when class was over, Bell rang in on top of the podium and Cianciarulo had seized second. Michigan's Cody McCulloch captured third overall.

With the 250 B and 450 A classes competing at the same time, spectators were brought to their feet by the bar-banging action. John Pauk (2-1) pulled off a first place in the 250 B class, just ahead of Tim Thorn (5-2) and Shane McElrath (4-3). Cameron Stone was once again deemed champion in the 450 A class, followed by Kyle Mierzejewski (3-3) and Gino Aponte (7-2).2010 0522 Lazy River MX LLQ Mark Steventon 12

Tommy Martin swept the Over 40 class, ahead of Darrell Sims and Mike Byers. Mark "Slowpoke" Steventon (12, above - and that's his self-appointed nickname) pulled out his vintage Honda and garnered fourth, and Larry Earle rounded out the top five.

Canadian Kate McKerroll was on top of her game in the Women's class. The KTM jockey claimed first place overall via a 1-1 tally, while Rebecca Wright (3-2) racked up second and Allison King (2-3) captured third.

Polini pilot Kyle Lucas won the 50 Open class, while Benjamin Gilleland (4, below) and Cullen Myers claimed the remaining podium positions aboard their Cobras.2010 0522 Lazy River MX LLQ Benjamin Gilleland 4
