Round 2: Buffalo River Race Park

Perreault Prevails at BRRP

GLYNDON, MN

Once again, everyone at Buffalo River Race Park enjoyed a perfect day, with a light cloud cover but no rain and with temperatures in the 60s.2010 0516 BRRP Open A-B start

The Open A/B contest was a roost-fest on the damp, dust-free Minnesota track; nobody made it out clean. From the start, it was clear that these guys all wanted that top step of the podium. Butches Boats-backed, TC-450 Husky-mounted Mike Lemke (274, above) garnered the holeshot, with Kawasaki rider Luke Perreault, Tousley Motorsports Honda racer Rory Beckman (292) and Jason Johnson (372), riding the U-Motors 2010 YZ450F Yamaha, close behind. After swapping positions throughout the race, Luke Perreault (422, below) from East Grand Forks, Minnesota, outlasted the rest of the field for the overall win. Early race leaders Lemke and Beckman rounded out the podium.2010 0516 BRRP Luke Perreault 422

The Over 40 Seniors showed the kids how Dad does it. Once again, Renold Sawatsky made the long trip from Altona, Manitoba, Canada, worthwhile by putting his 450 Honda out front. Brian Perreault was pushing him the whole way. Dilworth, Minnesota's Jon Nettleton, also on a Honda, closed out the top three. Settling for fourth was Honda-mounted Jon Ruth from Lake Park, Minnesota, who was closely stalked by Yamaha rider Gary Wylot from Grand Forks, North Dakota. This Senior class just proves that age is just a number.

The newer racers in the 250 C class put on a show. Fargo, North Dakota's Andrew Myogeto, riding a Suzuki, made it clear that it's not only red that wins. Tim Smith from Morris, Minnesota, put up a serious battle on his Kawasaki to hold on to second place. Yamaha riders Derick Brehm and Riley Wanzek finished a very close third and fourth, respectively.
