Flinchum a First-Time Flyer at Log Road

BRONSON, MI2010 0418 Log Road MX Bill Hager 199

Riders of all ages come to Michigan's best-prepared MX track to fill their need for moto bliss, and on day two of Log Road MX's first two weekends of the 2010 GLMX season, all the gang was on hand. One of the guys everyone was most happy to see was the 64-years-young leader of the Hager Racing organization and, on this day, also the winner of the Over 60 contest - Bill Hager (199, above). Meanwhile, at the other end of the age spectrum, Ranger Flinchum (83, below) was enjoying his very first weekend of racing, and he came away with a pair of wins in the Wobbler class.2010 0418 Log Road MX Ranger Flinchum 83

Moto one of Wobbler action was a close, classic blue-bike-vs.-red-bike battle between Flinchum and Cole Rieder. Flinchum was on the gas throughout the 10-lap moto and was able to push his Yamaha to the limits to take the checkered flag first. In the second go-around, Flinchum looked even more comfortable as he picked up speed and grabbed the second-moto win as well as the overall, beating out runner-up Rieder (2-2).2010 0418 Log Road MX Greg Durivage 924

Greg Durivage (924, above) took a weekend off from chasing ladies around the Bowling Green University campus and came home for a little R&R - which in this case stands for Racing and Roughing up the competition, as the Championship Powersports poster boy nailed down wins in the Open A, 250 A and 14-24 classes, dominating all three and grabbing six win in six tries.2010 0418 Log Road MX Blake Davis 78

There was big action on the little track, as six riders went for the gold in the 50 Trail class, and none of them were faster than Charlotte, Michigan's Blake Davis (78, right), who had his Honda blazing!. Davis got a great start in moto one, as did both Riley Wilcox and Dakota Innes. The three front-runners were on the move early, slicing and dicing around the Log Road facility. Davis had the throttle twisted hard and crossed the finish line out front. Innes found some great lines later in the moto and piloted his way into the runner-up spot, followed closely by Wilcox, Corey Morris, and Flinchum.

In moto two, Wilcox got a good jump on the start, but leading the field out of turn one it was once again Davis out front, with Innes and Wilcox in tow. Davis liked the top spot and rode a great race, leading the way to a double-moto victory and winning the overall. Wilcox (3-2) used a good start and great passes in lapped traffic to take the second-moto runner-up spot, which mirrored his overall finish. Innes (2-3) came up just short at the flag after an outstanding ride to top Morris (4-4), Flinchum (5-5) and Ian Tisch (6-6).
