Fastline Polini's Tod McGee (153, in blue, above) continued his winning ways at the Polini USA Cup by posting his fourth win in as many races in the Pocketbike Open class. Randy Orza (44) was fast qualifier. When the flag dropped, the two speedsters from Georgia gapped the rest of the field. Orza dogged McGee, determined to win. McGee wouldn't have it, and every time Orza went to pass, he closed the door and powered away. At the finish, McGee had a comfortable lead. Randy Agmata finished third and Rocky Ferraro was fourth.
In the Senior Pocketbike class, it was Orza's turn to shine. He grabbed the lead in both of his races. He won race one comfortably. In his second race, Orza pulled out to a four-second lead and it looked like he was going to be able to cruise in for the victory. Arizona' Agmata got into his groove toward the middle of the race, and with two turns to go he caught Orza and set up for the pass. As he headed into the turn for the pass, he bobbled, and that was all Orza needed to hang on for the win and the overall victory.
Kenny Anderson opened up his series points lead in the Pocketbike A class by comfortably winning both of his races. The 9-year-old Southern Californian grabbed the holeshot in each of his classes, and he was never challenged for the lead in either of his races. Trevor Welch and Dillon Hodges battled to second and third place, respectively.
Valentine Welch raced to the overall victory in the Pocketbike B class. The 12-year-old from Oregon jumped out to an early lead and held it from start to finish in each of her races.
One of the most exciting races of the day was the Supermoto 10-inch Open class. Jordan Kanady grabbed the holeshot and the early lead. In the middle of the race, he was challenged by Jeremy Coffey, who made several attempts to pass Kanady, but Kanady closed the door on every attempt and opened up a nice margin to finish comfortably in the lead. The second race started much the same as the first one, with Kanady and Coffey pulling out a lead on the rest of the group. Kanady wasn't able to get any distance over the second-place rider. Just when it seemed that the pressure from Coffey was getting to Kanady and he had him set up for the pass, Coffey's front wheel washed out. The Washington racer remounted and finished third, right behind Chaz Abbot.
