TERRELL, TX

The fourth round of the 2010 Moose/Pirelli/Dr. D/Rekluse-sponsored TCCRA series on April 24 and 25 was another success, with 392 racers in attendance. Todd Broom promoted Race 3804 at The Pit in Terrell, Texas. The 10-mile track was a perfect design, with something for everybody. After heavy rains on Friday night, Saturday's practice was delayed until noon so the track workers could clean up the surface and allow it to dry. The track was comprised of a great blend of hard straightaways, sandy corners, and a slick, tight woods section. The motocross track was perfect, with just the right amount of moisture in it for traction but not too slick.

The racing started on Saturday with the Pee Wees. The 1.5-mile track had a tight tree section followed by a straightaway littered with rocks and telephone poles. The class of the field was Austin McKinney, who won the 65cc Expert class in dominating fashion. The overall 50cc winner was Stetson Schmidt. But the best race of the Pee Wee program was in the 65cc Amateur class, which featured a three-way battle among Jason Mason, Ross Moncrief and Andrew Garrett. The lead changed on almost every lap, and Mason outlasted his opponents to win by mere seconds.

The first race on Sunday was the Amateur program, and once again John Hellam won the Factory Performance Racing Overall Amateur Award in the Open Amateur class. SMS Racing-sponsored Josh Woessner dominated the Intermediate program to win the overall. The best race of the Amateur program was once again the Lites Amateur contest, with LCS-sponsored Cody Waits outlasting Andrew Joyner for the win.

The second race of the day was the Ladies/Mini contest. The best race of the day was in the Ladies Expert class, between Hannah Otto and Factory Performance Racing/Thomas Agency/PowerBar-sponsored Jordan Milbauer. Their epic battle left the rest of the Ladies Expert class in the dust, with Jordan outdueling Hannah on the last lap for the win.

The third race on Sunday was the Expert program. Scott Bailey won the Factory Performance Racing Overall Expert Award in the Over 30 Expert class. MSR-backed Caleb Ramsey (P1, right) put on a clinic in the TCCRA Pro class, winning by three minutes. Motocrosser Sean Hackley put in a good race to finish second, just in front of Cameron Ishmael in third. Tyler Rawlings and David Lucas had great race, with Rawlings holding off Lucas for the win. Other notable rides were put in by Jeremy Huddleston, who won the Lite Experts class, and Colby Bolling, who won the Open Expert class.

The next race will be held at the I-35 facility in Thackerville, Oklahoma, on May 8 and 9.
