. 7/15/01 - National Motocross Series Rnd. 7: Unadilla
. Pre-Race Notes:

It's overcast and a little breazy. Track looks great and they added a 100 ft. table top this year that everyone was whipping it over. Racing starts a little after 1:00 EST.
. 125cc Moto #1:
. And the holeshot goes to...Ernesto Fonseca followed by Ward and Sellards...Ward quickly gets around Fonseca and pulls a few bike length lead...Pastrana is in 4th spot and is all over Sellards...After one lap Ward, Pastrana, Sellards, Fonseca, Langston, Ramsey, D. Smith, Brown, Carter and Boniface...Pastrana is all over Ward now trying to get the lead...Pastrana comes out of the uphill horseshoe with the lead and puts Ward back to 2nd spot...Langston is on the move, he's currently up to the 3rd spot and is catching Ward...Pastrana has about a 2.5 second lead over Ward after about 4 laps...Running order is Pastrana, Langston, Ward, Sellards, Fonseca, Boniface, Brown, D. Smith, Ramsey and Carter...Pastrana has a 4 second lead over Langston...Brown is on the move, he's in 5th spot right now but is all over Fonseca for 4th spot...Brown got around Fonseca right as they jump into Gravity Cavity, now he's trying to reel in Ward...Fonseca got back around Brown, that 4-stroke is really pulling up the hills...Brown just traded some paint with Fonseca and sends Fonseca off the track, he gets back on in about 7th spot...

Pastrana is cruising out in front all by himself with about a 11 second lead over Langston...Ward is not letting Langston go anywhere he's still trying to get back to 2nd spot...Running order about 25 minutes into Pastrana, Langston, Ward, Brown, D. Smith, Sellards, Fonseca, Jesseman, Ramsey, K. Johnson, Schnell, Huffman and Boniface...The top 7 are all spread out now and just putting their laps in...Pastrana is still cruising out in front, looks like he's got this one in the bag with 2 laps to go...Pastrana is slowing down and Langston has actually caught him...I guess i spoke to soon...Langston is about 5 bike lengths behind him with 1 lap to go...Pastrana wins!!!

. They are just finishing their parade lap...And the holeshot goes to...Hughes followed by Windham and Carmichael...Tortelli goes down and is dead last now...Windham currently holds the lead with RC behind him and Hughes next...Hughes went down and is about mid-pack now...Windham has about a 2 second lead over Carmichael then Ferry is right behind RC...Running order Windham, Carmichael, Ferry, LaRocco, Dowd, Reynard, Preston, Vuillemin, Crine, Hughes, Stratton and Roncada...The top 3 have pulled away from the rest of the pack...Windham is still out in front with RC right behind him and then Ferry...Running order is Windham, Carmichael, Ferry, LaRocco, Reynard, Hughes, Dowd, Vuillemin, Preston, Roncada, Krine, Roy, Tortelli, Stratton and Stiles...The top three have all gotten a little closer together...Windham slides out and goes down and gives the lead to RC...Ferry is all over Carmichael's rear fender...Ferry takes the lead from Carmichael with about 10 minutes to go...Ferry is pulling away working his way around the lappers...

Ferry is pulling away from Carmciahel, he has about a 3 second lead, his 4-stroke Yamaha is working great here...Ferry is still pulling away...Running order is Ferry, Carmichael, LaRocco, Windham, Tortelli, Hughes, Vuillemin, Dowd, Roncada and Reynard...LaRocco and Windham have caught RC and are all over him sticking a wheel in everywhere...2 lap board is out for Ferry who has anice size lead right now...LaRocco passed Carmichael but RC takes it back a few turns later...Carmichael has pulled away again from LaRocco...Ferry has a few turns left...Ferry wins!!!

. And the holeshot goes to...Schnell followed by Ramsey and Pastrana...Ramsey takes over the lead quickly...Running order after lap one is Ramsey, Pastrana, Brandes, Schnell, Langston, D. Smith, Sheak, Johnson, Brown and Ward...Pastrana is riding like a wild man, he jumped down right past Ramsey...Ramsey keeps sticking a wheel back in on Pastrana...The top 10 are all still pretty close together...Pastrana is starting to pull away a little from Ramsey and Brandes...Schnell just got passed by Langston and he moves into 4th spot...Langston just jumped past Brandes and moves into 3rd spot...Pastrana's lead is about 4 seconds now. The top 4 are all spread out now pretty good...

Ward pulled off the track and was holding his arm, it looks like he got a rock in the arm...Langston has made the made on Ramsey and moves into 2nd spot...There are some big rocks here. Preston got a rock in the nose on the first lap and his bike was covered with blood...Brown passes Ramsey now and moves into 3rd spot...Brown is now about 5 seconds back of Langston...Running order is Pastrana, Langston, Brown, Ramsey, Sheak, Huffman, Schnell, Brandes, Lamson, Fonseca, Jesseman, Sellards and Boniface...2 lap board is out for Pastrana and the rest of the field...top 3 are Pastrana, Langston and Brown...Pastrana is down on the last lap...Langston takes the lead! Langston wins and takes the overall.

And the holeshot goes to...Hughes followed by Carmichael and Windham...RC is in the lead already...After lap one it's Carmichael, Hughes, Windham, Tortelli, Ferry, Dowd, LaRocco, Vuillemin, Roncada, Stiles, Lusk, Carter and Roy...Tortelli is up to 3rd spot and is catching Windham in 2nd spot...RC is not getting away from the five guys behind him...Tortelli has made the pass on Windham and now sets his sights on the leader Carmichael, who is about 4 seconds ahead...Running order is Carmichael, Tortelli, Ferry, Hughes, Windham, LaRocco, Vuillemin, Lusk and Roncada...Tortelli is running down RC he is about 6 bike lengths behind him...Ferry has pulled off in the mechanics area, what a bummer for the first moto winner...

Tortelli is all over RC they are side by side all over the track...Tortelli makes the pass and RC passes him right back...Everyone is going crazy, Tortelli and RC have passed each other back and forth about 5 times...RC went down and Tortelli has a big lead now...Everyone is spread out pretty well now...Lusk just went down in front of us and his bike is tweaked, the sub-frame is bent the handlebars are pointing down, but he is still riding slowly around the track...2 lap board is out now...Tortelli is still out in front looking good. RC will get the overall win with a 2-2...Tortelli wins!
