SHOWTIME IS BACK!!!!! Today marks the return of the King of Supercross Jeremy McGrath. After a two year retirement, McGrath is back on his factory Honda CRF450. His lap times are hovering around the 2:26 mark, and it appears that he has stepped it up from yesterdays practice sessions.

Mike Alessi is back on action today, wearing is new Oneal gear, Alessi went on to win both his Saturday and Sunday qualifiers with relative ease. However, the Alessi camp has gone away with the "Believe the Hype" t-shirts.

There are many new faces in the line up today, most of the top graduates of the Loretta Lynn's amatuer national championships have decided try their luck inthe pro class. Jacob Saylor, Jimmy Nelson, Eric McCrummen, and Thomas Hahn are all making their pro debute today.

Ricky Carmichael can clinch the title today, and also he has a chance at keeping his perfect season alive.

The weather is about 83 degrees, with a little humidity. It looks to be a great day a racing. Be sure to read the full race coverage in next week's Cycle News.


125cc Moto One:


They are on the parade lap now..... The gate drops, and the holeshot goes to..... Mills, followed by Walker, Hepler, Stewart....

Walker takes over the on the lead lap, followed by Stewart..... The running order after one lap is Walker, Stewart, Mills, Hepler, Adams, Schnell, Gossellar, Brown, Tedesco, Summey, Metcalfe.....Stewart just got around Walker and is starting to pull away

Stewart and Walker have put 6 second gap on the Mills - Hepler battle for third. Walker has closed the gap on Stewart, and is not letting him check out... Walker is doing everything he can to try and catch Stewart....

After two laps the running order is Stewart, Walker, Hepler, Mills, Gossellar, Adams, Tedesco, Schnell, Brown, Summey, Metcalfe, D. Smith, Millsaps, Gray, Collier, Gracyck, Hahn, Weigand, Casillas...

Stewart and Walker have checked out from Hepler and Mills.... Stewart is 4 seconds ahead of Walker, but he is not pulling away. Tedesco just got around Adams for the sixth spot.... Tommy Hahn moved in the top fifteen after a pass on Sean Collier...

The top five riders are pretty well spread out, Stewart and Walker have checked out... Mike Brown seems to have dropped off the pace, and letting some riders go around..... Stewart now has an eight second gap on Matt Walker in second...

The running order after 19 minutes the running order is Stewart, Walker, Hepler, Mills, Gossellar, Tedesco, Adams, Schnell, Metcalfe, Millsaps, Summey, Brown, Gray, Hahn... Gossellaar has moved to the rear wheel of Mills, and is looking to get around for fourth.... Mike Brown is out of the race...

Tommy Hahn is all over the back tire of Brian Gray and Josh Summey, it is a good battle for the number 12 spot. Stwart has checked out, he has put a 14 second gap Walker in second. Hahn has gotten around both Gray and Summey for the 12th spot....Gossellar has moved around Mills to take over the fourth spot....

Tedesco has closed the gap on Gossellar - Mills battle, and is trying to get around.... The two lap board just came out..... Stewart takes the white flag with a 16 second lead.... Paul Carpenter has put in a good ride after falling in the first turn, he is now 15th....

Stewart is waving to the fans.... Mills just got back around Gossellar for fourth.... Stewart takes the win, followed by Walker, Hepler, Mills, Gossellar, Tedesco, Adams, Schnell, D. Smith, Metcalfe, Millsaps, Hahn, Weigand, Gray, Carpenter, Summey, K. Smith, Gracyck

They are on the parade lap now.... The gate drops, and the holeshot goes to.... Kyle Lewis, followed by Carmichael, there was a big pile up in the third turn involving Alessi, McGrath, Reed, Wey, and Rodrigues.... Chad Reed is second to last, and Rodrigues is not under power yet...

After one lap the running order is Carmichael, Lewis, Windham, Stiles, Vuillemin, Anderson, Hamblin, Tortelli.... Carmichael is starting to check out after one lap..... McGrath is running in the 28th spot after two laps...

Alessi is moving up after the pile up and is in the 16th spot..... Carmichael is 17 seconds ahead of the second place Winfham after 3 laps....... Vuillemin hs moved to the rear wheel of Lewis and is trying to get around, and he got him...... Alessi is now in 13th and moving up...... Juaquim Rodrigues is out the the race...

Alessi is the man on the move, he's passing all of the veterans like they are standing still, he is now in eighth..... Alessi just moved into 7th and is pushing... The running order is Carmichael, Windham, Vuillemin, Lewis, Tortelli, Hamblin, Alessi, Anderson, Laughridge, Stiles, Morgan, Mason, Eastwood, Fonseca, Oehlof, Byrne, Gibson......

Caarmichaelnow haas a 23 second lead on Windham, and is pulling away.... Alessi has moved up to the rear wheel of Hamblin.... Hamnblin isn't letting him around..... McGrath is now running in th 23 spot..... It looks like Millville round two between Alessi and Hamblin, this is a great battle...

Carmichael is gone. Tortelli is all over Lewis fot the fourth spot, but he can't get around.... Hamblin is doing everything he can keep Alessi behind him. Alessi just got around! Tortelli has moved around Lewis for fourth.... Alessi has put a gap on Hamblin, and is closing the gap on Lewis....

With five minutes left in the moto the running order is Carmichael, Windham, Vuillemin, Tortelli, Lewis, Alessi, Hamblin, Laughridge, Anderson, Stiles, Fonseca, Morgan, Byrne, Wey, Voss, Thomas..... McGrath has moved into the 18th spot.... Carmichael has put Chad Reed a lap down.....

The only battle on the track now is for 10th between Fonseca, Byrne, Stiles and Wey.... The 2 lap board just came out, and Alessi has closed the gap on Lewis.... Carmichael just took the white flag.... Alessi is all over Lewis, and he got by! Carmichael takes the win, followed by Windham, Vuillemin, Tortelli, Alessi, Lewis, Hamblin, Fonseca, Voss, Byrne, Wey, Anderson, Thomas, Gibson, McGrath

After one lap the running order is Stewart, Gossellar, Brown, Tedesco, Adams, McGourty, Carpenter, Hahn, D. Smith, Ward, Maier.... Stewart already has a three second gap on Gossellar.... Matt Walker went down and can't start the bike, he is way back.... Stewart now has a six second gap on Gossellar...

After three laps the running order is Stewart, Gossellar, Brown, Adams, Carpenter, Hahn, D. Smith, McGourty, Metcalfe, Millsaps, Ward, Tedesco, Mills, Nelson, Gray.... Stewart has already checked out... Brown has now moved into second spot...... Hepler is coming through the pack and is already in 15th place....

Matt Walker is following Hepler, and is moving up also... Stewart now has a 16 second gap on Brown and is gaining.... Tommy Hahn is all over Carpenter, the rookie is looking to break into the top five... Hahn got around and is now in the fifth spot... Hepler is now in 12th, and Walker is in 15th spot....

At the half way mark the running order is Stewart, Brown, Gossellar, Adams, Hahn, Carpenter, D. Smith, Millsaps, Tedesco, McGourty, Metcalfe, Hepler, Mills, Schnell, Walker.... Hepler is now in 10th, and Walker is in 14th... Stewart now has a 21 second lead on Brown...

Hepler just got around Tedesco, and is running ninth.... Brown, Gossellar, and Adams and running alone in the 2nd, 3rd, and fourth spots.... Stewart now has a 26 second lead over Brown..... Carpenter and D. Smith just got around Hahn and put Hahn in the seventh spot....

Adams is starting to close the gap on Gossellar..... Hepler just put a move on Hahn for seventh, Adams just got around Gossellar for third.... The two lap board just came out, and the running order is Stewart, Brown, Adams, Gossellar, Carpenter, D. Smith, Hepler, Hahn, Tedesco, Walker, Schnell, Millsaps, Mills, Gray, McGourty.....

Hepler just put a move on D. Smith, and is now in the sixth spot..... Now Hepler has moved around Carpenter for fifth... The white flag is out, Stewarts lead is now 21 seconds, he is on cruise control.... Stewart takes the win! followed by Brown, Adams, Gossellar, Hepler, Carpenter, D. Smith, Hahn, Tedesco, Walker, Schnell, Millsaps, McGourty, Gray, Mills, Chisholm, Metcalfe, Maier...

They are on the parade lap now...... The gate drops, and the holeshot goes to.... Carmichael, followed by Reed, Rodrigues, Alessi, Buckelew, McGrath..... Tortelli is in second to last place.... Carmichael has already opened up a gap on Reed... Alessi got around Rodrigues and is running third....

After one lap the running order is Carmichael, Reed, Alessi, McGrath, Rodrigues, Wundham, Wey, Buckelew, Vuillemin.... Windham is starting to make up some time on McGrath... Alessi is runniong strong in the third spot, but losing some time to Carmichael and Windham....

Reed is keeping RC in close distance.... Windham is starting to catch up to Alessi, he is about 4 seconds behind.... After ten minutes the running order is Carmichael, Reed, Alessi, Windham, McGrath, Wey, Vuillemin, Rodrigues, Byrne, Buckelew, Voss, Stiles, Fonseca, Thomas, Maximoff....

Windham has now moved to the rear wheel of Alessi..... McGrath is starting to fall off the pace, ..... McGrath just pulled off, word is a bad motor.... Windham just got around Alessi for third, but Alessi is trying to fight back..... Vuillemin is out of the race and walking back to the pits....

Windham is pulling away from Alessi, but behind 17 seconds behind the rookie is Nick Wey. Carmichael now has a 7 second gap over read, with Windham about 24 seconds behind the supercross champ.... The top five a pretty well spread out now, not much action going on in front.

After 20 minutes the running order is Carmichael, Reed, Windham, Alessi, Wey, Byrne, Fonseca, Tortelli, Voss, Rodrigues, Buckelew, thomas, Stiles, Lewis, Hamblin.... Tortelli just got around Fonseca to move into the number seven spot..... Tortelli is closing the gap on Byrne, and Fonseca is right behind him.

Tortelli is on the rear wheel of Byrne now, he just got around him, Fonseca is going to try next. The two lap board just came out.... Carmichael has a nine second lead on Reed.... Fonseca is all over the rear tire of Byrne, and he just got him...

Carmichael takes the white flag, he is on cruise control out in front.... Tortelli is on the rear wheel of Wey, it will come down to the final turn. Carmichael takes the win, followed by Reed, Windham, Alessi, Wey, Tortelli, Fonseca, Byrne, Voss, Thomas, Stiles, Buckelew, Rodrigues, Lewis, Hamblin
