Test Rider
HDT www.hdtusa.com has openings for Full Time UTV & Motorcycle Test riders to support engine and chassis development out of their Hesperia California facility. Riders will prep and test ride proto-type UTV and Motorcycles, on and off road, interchanging components, while maintaining detailed riding and performance logs, Candidates must have a valid California Motorcycle Driver license with 5+ years of pro or top amateur level UTV or Off-road racing experience, full mechanical ability, and able to endure heat and long distances/time periods. Some extended travel may be required. Position requires the physical ability to upright motorcycles up to 600-lb from a fallen position and the ability to ride an average of up to 1,500 miles per week. We need road warriors, not weekend warriors. Candidates must be equally skilled on motorcycles and UTVs. Further requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, College or MMI degree a plus, good driving record, no criminal history, and the ability to pass a physical and drug screen. General Duties:
- Provide students with the technical skill sets and applied logical diagnostics approach necessary to diagnose, service, and repair modern motorcycles and powersports vehicles (ATV, PWC, Snowmobiles).
- Maintain a teaching assignment each module.
- Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to ensure course content and learning objectives are met.
- Design, administer and grade examinations.
- Actively maintain student retention by keeping accurate daily attendance records, calling absent students, recording absentee information in roster, and communicating any attendance concerns to the Program Chair or DOE.
- Be available to advise, tutor, and provide other student assistance as needed.
- Add your personal knowledge to WyoTech-supplied subject matter, objectives and skill tasks.
- Train students to obtain gainful employment in the Motorcycle/Powersports Industry as entry level technicians.
- Minimum required number of years with actual hands-on mechanical/technical work experience in the motorcycle/powersports field: 7 out of the last 10 (less with a 4 year college degree).
- Hands on experience as an Asian, European, or Domestic motorcycle, or Off Road Powersports (ATV, PWC, Snowmobile) technician.
- Ability to apply diverse teaching methods to students of various ages and learning styles.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and motivational skills. Strong team orientation.
- Teaching experience a plus, but not required; will train.
- Typical Instructor hours 6:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., or 4:15 p.m. to 1:40 a.m., five days a week.
