Marty Smith (12) and Roger DeCoster (111) battled it out in a Nebraska Trans-AMA motocross race on October 26, 1975. At the time, Smith was the defending AMA 125cc National MX Champion, and he was racing a factory Honda CR400 against the already legendary DeCoster and his factory Suzuki.

Smith went 1-2 on the day to win the overall, while a bad first-moto start relegated DeCoster to a 3-1 and second overall. Marty Tripes (2-7, Hon), Tony DiStefano (5-5, Suz) and Jim Pomeroy (8-4, Bul) rounded out the top five that day, while Jimmy Ellis (C-A) swept the 250cc Support class.
