Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa under went surgery on his right forearm this morning in Spain to fix a compartmental syndrome (arm pump) issue. The surgery was performed by Dr. Mir at the Hospital Universitario Quirón Dexeus and Pedrosa is expected to be fully healed in time for the French Grand Prix at Le Mans in 10 days.
Pedrosa finished third in Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez and took part in yesterday’s Jerez MotoGP test. Pedrosa was experiencing discomfort in his right arm and after Mir examined him they opted for immediate surgery in order to increase his chances of competing in the upcoming French Grand Prix. Dr. Mir used two incisions to enter the forearm, freeing the flexor and prone-extensor muscles in the appendage via minimally invasive microsurgery.
Pedrosa will be hospital for 24 hours.
Pedrosa has been on the podium in all four MotoGP races this season.
