Free practice for this weekend’s Bol d’Or got started today and it was a rough one for the Kawasaki SRC team, despite the fact that the team ended up leading the session at Magny Cours in France.

The factory team, already without Fabien Foret who is in Assen for the World Superbike round, lost Matthieu Lagrive to injury today with the French rider crashing and suffering what the a press release from the FIM is calling a “suspected head injury.” Lagrive is currently under observation at a nearby hospital.

It was Gregory Leblanc who set the fastest time for Kawasaki SRC with his 1:40.082 and it’s now down to just Leblanc and Nicolas Salchaud until we learn more about Lagrive’s condition.

The Suzuki Endurance Racing Team clocked the second best time with a 1:41.124 - just ahead of the new factory team Honda Racing’s 1:41.287 and the Yamaha Racing GMT 94 Michelin team and its 1:41.441.

Forty six teams have entered this year’s Bol d’Or.
