In a brief e-mail, series promoters XTRM Sports Network said the race scheduled for Oct. 11-12 “has reluctantly had to be canceled.” The series website said the rounds were “canceled due to oversight by the local promoter.” It went on to say “Further details and information will be released as to potential alternative venue and date to the final event. All efforts will be made to relocate this event.”
This is the second cancellation of the season. The November 8th season finale to be held in Las Vegas was canceled earlier this year.
Four events have been run so far this season, with HMC KTM Racing’s Troy Herfoss in the Supermoto points lead after winning the past three races following a third in the season-opener. Herfoss has 95 points to 87 for Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Mark Burkhart.
Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Brandon Currie leads the Supermoto Lites class with a perfect four-for-four season. His 100 points are 14 better than the 86 held by RJ Performance’s Matt Burton.
Factory Aprilia Rip-It Energy Fuel’s Darryl Atkins leads the Supermoto Unlimited class with 87 points, five more than Hart & Huntington Tattoo’s Steve Drew (KTM).
