Burkhart Takes Supermoto Gold

Yamaha's Mark Burkhart caught up to Troy Lee Honda's Jeff Ward with a lap and a half to go, passing the 46-year-old on the combination dirt/pavement Home Depot Center racetrack to win the gold medal in Supermoto at X Games 13 yesterday.

Ward looked to be in control, but he hit a false neutral and that little mistake turned out to be big as Burkhart was able to get past and pull away on the final lap.

With Ward taking the silver medal, the bronze medal went to David Pingree.
