The inaugural Detroit Supermoto Pro/Am Team Race, in which 100 percent of the proceeds went to Graves Motorsports Yamaha's Doug Henry, was won by the team of California's Joe Pascarella and 13-year-old up and coming Supermoto racer Emerson Conner, all 100 pounds or so of him. The two built an early lead and went on to win handily, thanks in part to some fast and clean lines, along with some ultra-fast wristband change over times.
With figures still being tallied, the Detroit Supermoto Doug Henry Benefit Dinner, held at Waterford Hills Raceway, site of the fourth round of the AMA Supermoto Championship, brought in an estimated $4,000 for Henry and his family. Some of the top items were Troy Lee's Troy Lee Designs helmet, Mickey Dymond's All Access/Parts Unlimited leathers and a black and white Doug Henry win photo that Mark Burkhart, Henry's teammate and Sunday's race winner, paid nearly $1,000 for.
