Jeff Ward comes into the final round with a 31-point lead over Doug Henry in the premiere Supermoto class, and a third or better in the first of the two finals will clinch the title for the 45-year-old ex-motocross star.
“It’s good to be out here and I’m just going to go out there and ride my best and try and keep Doug [Henry] behind,” said Ward. “This is a great place to have the event and the track is challenging and a lot of fun.”
“My main focus is winning the title,” said Cassidy Anderson, who leads Brandon Currie by 25 points in the Supermoto Lites class coming into the weekend. “I’m going to go out there and ride hard, but first and foremost I want to be smart and bring that title home for the Troy Lee Designs team.”
The closest title chase of the weekend is between Benny Carlson and David Baffeleuf in the Supermoto Unlimited class. Carlson only leads Baffeleuf by a mere four points coming into the weekend.
“It’s really close and it’s going to make for some really good racing,” Carlson said. “I’m going to focus on getting a good start and ride as hard as I can and we’ll see where it ends up. I like the track a lot and I think it’s going to be a good weekend.”
