Fast Track at Nashville Supermoto

Practice has concluded for round nine of the AMA Supermoto Series to be held tomorrow evening at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville, Tennessee, and all of the championship contenders spent the evening session making adjustments for the extremely fast course. The track, which is the fastest the riders have seen this year, is set inside a half-mile asphalt banked oval at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds and includes a relatively long dirt section that was developing a blue-groove by night’s end.

Tomorrow night, Troy Lee Designs Honda’s Jeff Ward will attempt to extend his points lead in the championship standings and put himself in position to wrap up his second AMA Supermoto title, while series rival Doug Henry (pictured), riding a Monster Energy/Graves Motorsports Yamaha, sits 32 points back in the standings.

In the AMA Hot Wheels Supermoto Lites division, Troy Lee Designs Honda’s Cassidy Anderson has dominated the class this year, winning all but one of the rounds and simply needs to finish ahead of Monster Energy/Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Brandon Currie to clinch the Lites title.

The Unlimited class is a three-way battle between Wisconsin’s Ben Carlson, Frenchman David Baffeleuf and defending champ Micky Dymond, and only seven points separate the trio.
