Cycle News Exclusive! Photographer Kinney Jones was in the right place at the right time (unlike James Stewart) and captured the entire sequence of the already infamous crash that broke Chad Reed's hand. A misconception currentlly circulating is that the AMA's disciiplinary action was taken on account of who caused the crash - but it was not. The AMA's penalty originally given to Reed (which was successfully appealed) was due to the hand-to-helmet contact as Reed pushed Stewart's head as he tried to get up. The crash itself was viewed as a "racing incident."
