Alessi Signs With KTM

Mike Alessi to race the new KTM 350.

A source close to the Alessi camp has confirmed that a deal has been struck between Mike Alessi and the KTM factory, which will see Alessi riding the Austrian brand for the next two years - specifically, the new 350.

Alessi flew to Austria on Monday, September 28, to sign a deal that is basically an outdoor-only contract for the AMA National Motocross Championship for 2010. This fall, Alessi will ride the Australian Supercross series in the 250F class, and the deal also calls for six international races, including the Italian GP in February, where Alessi will debut the new 350 along with new KTM recruit, MX1 World Champion Antonio Cairoli.

According to the source, Alessi's program will be run out of Austria making it a full factory effort designed at developing the 350 into a race winner.

Alessi's Australian Supercross program will be headed up by former championship contender Jeff Leisk.
