The Johnny Campbell Racing (JCR) Honda team of Colton Udall, Nick Brozovich, Ryan Dudek and Ryan Orr put together a consistent, error-free effort to score a decisive victory at the 24-Hours of Glen Helen at Glen Helen Raceway, October 17-18. The race was the final event at the track's three-race endurance series.
The Honda squad beat the next-best team, the previous 12-hour-winning squad of Kawasaki riders Robby Bell, Steve Hengeveld, Ryan Taylor and Ty Renshaw by two laps over the 10-mile course.
Five-time 24-Hour winner Ty Davis and his Zip-Ty Racing Husqvarna team of Kris Keefer, Trent Pugmire and Gary Sutherland finished third.
"It was just setting these three great riders down and letting them follow the plan of being consistent," said team manager Campbell. "We had minimal down time and it showed them just how it works, you don't have to be the fastest. I don't care who we beat, I'm just glad we won."
In the Ironman competition, it was also a dominate victory for Kawasaki-mounted Brad Goolsby who cruised to a record eighth Ironman win in a row, and his third consecutive 24-Hour victory. He topped runner-up Jarrett Smith (KTM) for the second race in a row by four laps.
