The engine receives upgrades such as new 40mm throttle bodies, that combined with new ignition and injection mapping, new camshafts and intake funnels, are said to add three horsepower to the already potent R6 powerplant.
The chassis receives updates as well, with the biggest improvement coming in the form of the new 41mm fully-adjustable inverted fork. New upper and lower triple clamps were added to get the most from the added rigidity of the fork. The rear section on the Deltabox III frame was revised to work with the new swingarm linkage and new mounts in an effort to improve handling. New, lighter, 310mm front brake rotors are 12mm larger in diameter than the previous model’s, while new radial-mount calipers, and a radial master cylinder for more stopping power. The front tire has been changed to 120/70-ZR17 instead of the 120/60-ZR17 on last years bike.
The headlights have been revised as has the under-cowl for improved styling.
