Big Apple Eddie

Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines' Eddie Krawiec does Manhattan.

Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines' Eddie Krawiec, far left, joins fellow NHRA competitors and executives for the ringing of the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

Krawiec, the defending NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, arrived at the exchange leading the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series point standings after wins in two of the last three rounds. Krawiec leads teammate Andrew Hines 433 to 382.

After winning his first two finals in a row, in Atlanta and Madison, Il, the New Jersey native fell to Matt Guidera in last weekend's final in Chicago. Guidera clocked a 7.096 to Krawiec's 7.189.

This weekend Krawiec, who lives in Avon, Indiana near the team's race shop, will return to his hometown of Englishtown, New Jersey for the United Association NHRA SuperNationals at the famed Old Bridge Raceway Township Park, one of the NHRA's seven original national events.

Joining Krawiec on the bell podium are NHRA President Tom Compton, center, with funny car driver Ashley Force Hood (Castrol GTX Ford) to his right. Geico Motorcycle Suzuki's Karen Stoffer is second from right in front row.
