Savoie, Star Get A Hand

New Sponsor Announced

Star Racing, owners of the Pro Stock Team with which reigning NHRA/Powerade Pro Stock Bike Champion Angelle Savoie campaigns, has issued the following release as an update to its earlier information regarding its sponsorship situation:

Americus, Ga., August 13, 2002 - The Star Racing team's pursuit of the 2002 NHRA POWERade championship received some welcome assistance on Tuesday, as it was announced that Retail Fixture, L.L.C. will be joining George Bryce's organization for the remainder of the season.

The Racine, Wisconsin-based company will be the presenting sponsor on two-time defending champion Angelle Savoie's Pro Stock Suzuki at this weekend's Rugged Liner NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, Minn., moving to an associate role for the last four races. However, should Star Racing not sign a new corporate partner by the U.S. Nationals, Retail Fixture's primary positioning will be extended to include the Indianapolis event.

"Curt Woodward and Retail Fixture are avid racing enthusiasts and long-time friends of the Star Racing team," stated Bryce. "They have been with us in the past as an associate, and have stepped up to help us in the run for the 2002 championship.

"We're going to do everything we can to reward them for their investment. Just like their displays are designed to bring attention to their customers' products, Star Racing is going to work to put Retail Fixture in the spotlight both on and off the track."

Founded in 1993 by Curt Woodward, Retail Fixture manufactures an entire line of retail displays. From a single, freestanding unit to a custom-designed, comprehensive store layout, they pride themselves on being a leader in the industry. Specializing in customized service, they work with top retailers around the world. A prime example of Retail Fixture's handiwork can be found at the Star Racing facility in Americus, Ga., including a magnificent trophy case which houses the many symbols of the team's on-track successes.

Woodward is no stranger to the motorsports arena. In addition to owning and sponsoring a stock car in the American Speed Association (ASA), he scored Top Ten points finishes in two years of competition in the AMA ProStar Series. Prior to his previous involvement with Star Racing, he also participated in the NHRA's Pro Stock Motorcycle division as both a driver and team owner.

"I've always been a Pro Stock Motorcycle, Star Racing and Angelle fan," said Woodward. "When I found out recently that they were having difficulties with their sponsorship program not coming along as they had hoped, I offered my assistance.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Angelle and the Retail Fixture Suzuki race in Brainerd. The one thing we made sure to do when we designed the office at Star Racing was to make the trophy case expandable, and I expect them to take full advantage of that feature throughout the remainder of the 2002 season."
