Long a NASCAR haven, the AMA Superbike Series went to Charlotte Motor Speedway in July of 1991 and the race ended with a NASCAR-style finish as Scott Russell beat Miguel Duhamel to the flag by just .042 of a second with Doug Polen just as close in third place. The win was Russell's second of the season and the third of his AMA Superbike career and he earned $4600 from the $25,000 Superbike purse for his efforts.Here's a look back at the AMA Superbike race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1991.

Commonwealth Hondas Miguel Duhamel  Two Brothers Racings Steve Crevier and Atlantic Motorsports Tom Kipp pass a lapped rider in the 600cc Supersport final. Duhamel won the race  beating Kipp by .373 of a second.

Jimmy Filice  65  leads Nick Ienatsch  24  and Rick Kirk  39  in the 250cc Grand Prix final. The race was ultimately won by Chris DAluisio.
