PHILLIP ISLAND, AUSTRALIA, FEB. 22 – It looks as though Team Hero EBR’s Geoff May will be sidelined for Sunday's World Superbike races after crashing hard early in this morning’s practice session at Phillip Island. Early reports was that May had broken his collarbone in the crash and that he was going to Melbourne to be seen by a surgeon for a second opinion as to whether he should get surgery or not.

The estimated healing time without surgery on the collarbone is 25 days. As of now there is nothing scheduled until a test at the end of March and the next round on the schedule is April 11 in Aragon, Spain.

May and teammate Aaron Yates have been working on adjusting to the new EBR1190RX race bike. So far the test earlier this week and the race weekend has been their only time on the bike that has quite a few differences from the EBR1190RS that they raced last year in AMA Superbikes.
