Yamaha Motor Italia’s Troy Corser stole the show in the second qualifying session for tomorrow’s two World Superbike rounds at the Misano circuit in Italy, the Australian besting countryman Troy Bayliss to lead the way into Superpole. Corser’s best lap – a 1:36.412 - came very late in the session and it knocked Bayliss from the top spot, the Ducati Xerox man holding down that spot for the majority of the session with his 1:36.435. Ducati-mounted Jakub Smrz ended up third on the Guandalini-sponsored V-twin, ahead of Kawasaki’s Regis Laconi, the ZX10R-mounted rider completing the front row heading into Superpole. Bayliss’s teammate Michel Fabrizio put his Ducati fifth with Hannspree Ten Kate Honda’s Carlos Checa sixth, Alstare Suzuki’s Max Neukirchner seventh and his teammate Fonsi Nieto eighth.
