GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac has shown that when he’s healthy he’s a factor. And the proof is in the pudding: 10 podium finishes since returning from injury at the Muddy Creek round. And two moto victories and his first 450 class overall at Spring Creek. Now he wants more.

"For me this is a really good track," Tomac said as the Lucas Oils Pro Motocross Series heads to Unadilla in upstate New York this week. "I've always done well here and I think that's because it fits my riding style really well. This track has a lot of long ruts and many bumps on it, but it's also a high-speed course at the same time. It's a really solid track that requires you to be in good shape."

With three races left on the schedule, Tomac might prove to the spoiler in the championship chase between KTM teammates Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen.

"This season has been going well for me," Tomac said. "Since I've been back on the circuit, I've been on the podium every race and even got my first two career 450 wins. With my history at this track [Unadilla], I really think that will be a good chance for me to get another 450 win, so I'm excited."

Tomac is currently ninth in the championship after missing the start of the season, but he’s in a position to jump up four or five spots this weekend.

"At this point it's all about winning, though," Tomac said. "It's cool to be making my way up the championship standings, but as a racer, I don't compete to be fifth in points. I race for championships. After missing part of the season, I'm just out there to continue getting podium finishes and hopefully a few more wins."
