Jeremy Martin was the surprise winner of the 250 class at Glen Helen.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA, MAY 24 - A scoring glitch has made a shambles of the 250-class results following the opening round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Glen Helen Raceway. As a result, the race results won’t be official until later tonight or even tomorrow, but what we do know is that Jeremy Martin captured the overall victory, and there is no doubt about that.

Martin blew everyone away in both motos. Period. He claimed the holeshot twice (three times if you count one of the motos that was red-flagged because of a first-turn pileup), and the rider from Minnesota simply checked out. He was never threatened all day.

He was joined on the podium by his Yamahalube/Star Racing Yamaha teammate Cooper Webb, who went 2-2 for second overall, making it a 1-2 podium for Yamaha.

Webb, however, had to work for his second-place finish, at least in the first moto, where he started the first lap in 11th place. But he steadily worked his way up through the pack to pass Cole Seely for second place three laps from the end for second.

The second race started a little better for Webb who went from fifth to second.

Seely, on the Lucas Oil/TLD Honda, was awarded third overall with a 4-4.

The top three overall finishers are certain but the AMA has not released any official second-moto results from fourth place on back.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson, who finished sixth in the first moto, went down late in the second moto while running up front. Wilson suffered a serious gash to the back of his leg that required a trip to the hospital and most likely surgery. He may have suffered nerve and ligament damage. His team fears that Wilson will miss many rounds of the series, if not the entire series.
