Cole Seely

Seattle, Washington (April 12, 2014) – Cole Seely moved to within eight points of Western Regional 250SX Class points leader Jason Anderson with a win in Seattle’s CentryLink Field, at round 15 of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series.

Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson kicked off the 15-lap main event by grabbing the holeshot, however, Seely put his TLD/Lucas Oil Honda into the lead before the end of the lap when Wilson bobbled.

Wilson went down on lap four and dropped to fifth, allowing Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill and Rockstar Energy Racing’s Jason Anderson to move into second and third. The two riders traded spots several times with Anderson crashing and going off the track on two separate occasions. Anderson was able to rebounded, however, and ultimately pass Hill for second on Lap 12.

With just one race remaining in the Western Regional Championship, Seely will need some help form Anderson to pull off a championship.

“I’m just trying to stay alive in the points hunt,” said Seely. “I’ve been solid and he’s been solid. I got off to good start then Wilson made a mistake and I capitalized. We were able to put together 15 solid laps. This is where I need to be, so I’m pumped. I’m not thinking about the points. Whatever happens happens. It’s been a fun year.”

Hill rounded out the podium in third while Wilson bounced back from his crash to finish fourth.
