GEICO Honda’s Zach Bell underwent surgery yesterday, January 12, to repair the collarbone he broke during practice at the Phoenix Supercross.

As what was first thought, Bell fractured the collarbone in three places and will have to stay off the bike for at least four to six weeks, so he will miss the entire West Coast 250 Supercross Series. If all goes well, he hopes to be ready for the outdoor Nationals that get underway in May.

As of now, the GEICO Honda Team has no intentions of replacing Bell, but will continue to rely on its now lone West rider Zach Osborne, who is currently third in the West 250 Supercross Championship.

The team will be well represented in the East Supercross Series with riders Matt Bisceglia, Blake Wharton and Justin Bogle. Bogle, however, is also on the mend and his return for the opening round of the East Series in Arlington, Texas, February 15.
