TOOELE, UTAH, MAY 29: Parkalgar Honda's Eugene Laverty took the provisional pole with an unusually large margin in the usually tight World Supersport field at Miller Motorsports Park.The Irishman lapped lapped the 3.048-mile Outer Course in 1:51.652, a time that was under the circuit best of 1:51.749 from 2009, the first year for World Supersport at Miller.Not only was Laverty the only rider in the 51s, but he was nearly .7 of a second faster than second best Joan Lascorz (Kawasaki Motocard), the previous best lap holder. The Spaniard could only manage a 1:52.211 best, which put him in tight company on the provisional front row. ParkinGO BE1 Triumph's David Salom was less than a tenth back with Fabian Foret (Team Lorenzini by Leoni) only .018 behind Salom.The second row was dominated by Hondas and Triumphs. Harms Benjan Racing's Robbin Harms and Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's Kenan Sofuoglu were fifth and sixth, with Triumph riders Jason DiSalvo (ParkinGO BE1 Triumph) and Chaz Davies (ParkinGO Triumph BE1) at the end of the row.The rest of the Americans finished farther down the field. Erion Honda's Tyler Odom was a creditable 16th, two spots up on Speed Tech Racing's Jason Farrell (Kaw). MPH Racing Yamaha's Melissa Paris was just behind Farrell.
