In a hearing held today in Assen, Holland - the site of Saturday's Dutch Grand Prix - the FIM CDI has rejected Pons rider Pol Espagaro's appeal against the over-turned penalty for Marc Marquez from the Catalunyan round of the Moto2 World Championship.

Pol Espargaró crashed out of the Catalan race after coming together with Marquez. Shortly after the incident, race direction imposed a 60-second penalty on Marquez for irresponsible riding and causing danger to another rider, sighting an infringement of the article 1.21.2 of the 2012 FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix regulations. Márquez's team subsequently lodged an appeal with the FIM Stewards, who did not back up the decision of race direction and cancelled the penalty.

Then the Pons 40 HP Tuenti team lodged an appeal, which was rejected today. Thus, Marquez will not incur any penalties.
