Gas Gas-mounted Adam Raga and Montesa’s Dougie Lampkin traded wins at the FIM World Championship Trials held in Goldendale, Washington, June 9-10. Raga scored the win on Saturday, while Lampkin came back to win on Sunday.

Saturday’s event came down to the wire, with both Raga and Lampkin dropping 20 points each, but Raga nipped Lampkin on the tie-breaker by having one more clean than Lampkin. Taking third on Saturday was Honda rider Takanisa Fujinami, followed by Sherco-mounted Marc Freixa and Beta rider Albert Cabestany.

On Sunday, Lampkin was in a class all his own. The rider from Great Britain dropped just four points all day, beating Fujinami by 13 points. Third place went to Spain’s Albert Cabestany, on Beta, followed by Raga.

After five of nine rounds, Lampkin leads the series with 187 points, followed by Fujinami with 152 and Freixa with 137.
