Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner led today's free practice session at the Jerez circuit in Spain, the Australian besting Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo by .144 of a second despite the Australian crashing late in the session.Stoner, who crashed out of the lead at the season-opening Qatar Grand Prix, was uninjured in the lowside crash.Nicky Hayden continued his strong start to the 2010 MotoGP season with the third fastest time in today's opening session. Hayden lapped at 1:40.148, .417 off Stoner's best of 1:39.731.Homeboy Dani Pedrosa ended up fourth on the Repsol Honda with Valentino Rossi, who suffered a shoulder injury in a motocross training accident prior tot the race, riding in pain to the fifth quickest time.Rizla Suzuki's Loris Capirossi ended up sixth, ahead of Texan Colin Edwards on the first of the two Monster Tech 3 Yamahas. His teammate Ben Spies ended up 11th in his first outing on the Jerez track.
