Randy Mamola said Thursday's Riders for Health "Day of Stars" at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was a huge success with some $40,000 being raised for the official charity of MotoGP.

"It was a great day," Mamola said. "We had about 18 people on the winery ride and then I led them on three laps of the circuit. I rode with them; we had ABC [TV] here, we did a group photo at the Corkscrew. It was just a really good day and the auction was a great success and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Seeing their faces on pit road when some of the MotoGP bikes were fired up was awesome."

Mamola was also joined at the circuit by Kenny Roberts and Wayne Rainey.
