Patrick Smage admits that he came into the 2012 AMA/NATC National MotoTrial Series a bit rusty, having spent the winter and most of the spring doing his extreme riding shows across the country, instead of practicing for the upcoming season, in order to earn a living. He also spent a good portion of the off-season performing on the NBC's hit TV show America's Got Talent, a stint that brought not only Smage a lot of notoriety, but also the sport of trials.
