An air-conditioned office in Repsol Honda's paddock village at Misano. There's me, Casey Stoner and his wife Adriana - pregnant, as he recently revealed. You wouldn't know from her graceful willowy figure. Adriana is with Casey constantly, and when he's out working, she's waiting in the pit.Oh, and the team PR man. He's listening in, ready to put out any fires. He's not needed. Stoner is quite capable of handling them on his own account.

Dangerous smile aside, it's hard to recognize the modern Casey, compared with the 20-year-old cuss who arrived at heady speed in the premier class in 2006. Fast and crash prone, he bristled defensively and clearly didn't enjoy the limelight - at the same time gaining a reputation for ignoring autograph-hunting fans and having little tolerance for any other riders who dared to share his racetrack.Now 25, already once champion at only his second attempt, and marching...
