Yamaha rider Ricky Russell, however, was quickest off the start line and led the pack into the woods. But both Trevor Bolinger and Strang managed to get around Russell during the first lap.
Bolinger took over. The JCR Honda rider opened up a seemingly safe 30-second lead over Strang especially when they took the white flag, signally the final lap.
But this is when Strang attacked!
Strang started catching Bolinger and was soon breathing down his back. With just two miles left to go, Strang let it rip and managed to get around Bolinger for the lead. From there, he sprinted to the finish line and ended up taking the win 30 seconds ahead of Bolinger.
Russell held on to take third.
Fourth went to Jonathan Johnson (Yamaha), while Brewer Cawley (KTM) rounded out the top five overall.
Other notable winners included David James (Senior), Cole Lail (Schoolboy), Vance Earl (Open), Max Fernandez (Youth) and Mason Tsakanikas (Pee Wee).
The race was also co-sanctioned by the Mid-East Hare Scrambles Championship.
