Juanfran Guevara Announces Retirement—Spanish Moto3 rider Juanfran Guevara has announced his retirement from motorcycle racing.
Guevara, who took a podium for the RB Racing KTM squad in 2017 at the Italian Moto3 Grand Prix, has called time on his career to focus on his business studies, which he was undertaking alongside a burgeoning Grand Prix career.
The 22-year-old Spaniard revealed in an interview with Spanish publication Motociclismo that the stress of racing, studying, finding sponsors, training and traveling finally became too much and that he was looking forward to a life in the business sector.
“If I am honest, especially in Moto3, 32 or 33 of the riders in the category don’t know how to do anything other than race a motorcycle,” he said. “It is hard to do anything once you get off the bike. I stopped to weigh things up, and for everything that I’ve lost, what my family has been through, does it make sense for me to be here? It’s been complicated. But life is full of difficult decisions.”
