Cycle News Staff | December 22, 2017
Team SRT, the largest US off-road motorcycle race team in recent years, has partnered up with Husqvarna for 2018 and will become Team SRT – Husqvarna. SRT Offroad, the Fresno, California motorcycle accessory manufacturer and distributor had over twenty riders on the 2017 team and earned several race wins and championships. This included the AMA National Enduro championship with Steward Baylor and AMA EnduroCross Junior championship (and second overall) with Trystan Hart among 10 class and local championships. For 2018, all the team riders will compete on Husqvarna motorcycles.
“It has always been a dream of mine to get all the riders on the same bike and it finally feels good to make that happen next year” said Craig Thompson, the team owner. “Thanks to Timmy Weigand at Husky for making this happen and believing in the program that we started. Team SRT is proud to represent Husqvarna Motorcycles and become Team SRT/Husqvarna next year!”
The full 2018 team will be finalized in the coming weeks but Trystan Hart, Kyle Redmond, Wally Palmer, JT Baker and Cory Graffunder are all confirmed and Evan Smith and Clayton Gerstner will be new additions.
